Drivers’ Safety Resources:
JJ Keller Training/Login
For training on certain topics that you need help with, reach out to safety or human resources to get training assigned in the desired topic or if you forget your login/password. The link for JJ Keller can be found on the “Driver Resources” page.
*Assigned training is mandatory after each critical event.
Sliding Tandems
Make sure that, when needed, trailer tandems can slide easily. This can be accomplished using lubricant such as WD-40, spray oil, or grease from the 5th wheel. Tandems must be positioned according to desired weight distribution and legal length per your municipal location.
Slips, Trips & Falls
Use the three-point contact system when getting into the cab:
1) Grab with both hands, and put your weight on one foot and climb up with the other foot. 2) Grab with one hand and reach with your other hand while both feet are planted. 3) Use the correct footholds! Never step anywhere unintended for your foot to be placed.
E-Log & HOS Videos
During the hiring process you are required to watch two training videos for your E-log. If you still feel like you need more training, please contact the telematics provider, Motive, with the link in the homepage and “Driver Resources” pages. With any additional HOS questions, please contact safety.
Routing Apps
Before leaving on a load, preview the route that CoPilot or your navigation program of choice has assigned you. Verify that the routed course is conducive for a tractor-trailer vehicle. You should also use this time to plan fueling and HOS breaks.
Accident Reporting
For any incident, large or small, please report to Safety per the accident protocol located in the handbook. Take pictures of everything involved with your vehicle(s) and others, if applicable. Collect contact information from every party involved, and report all incidents immediately. See the top of this page for the Safety form.
