Receiving a good DOT Inspection is an important part of
driving here at TRANSFLEET. Did you know you can receive REWARDS for
passing a DOT Driver/Vehicle Inspection: $50.00-Level I inspection
$35.00-Level II inspection $25.00-Level III inspection Please
mail in all inspections with your paperwork. And thank you to
everyone who is receiving good inspections! What happens if you
are inspected? If inspected you must show your current log book,
permit book, CDL, medical card and other shipping documents if required.
A good way to pass a LEVEL III inspection is to keep your log book
current, complete and accurate. We can show you how to do this please
contact me for individualized training. Also keep your documents
organized so they are in order. Please bring your permit books in I will
help you make sure you have all the required information. A good way
to be able to pass a full Level 1 inspection is to know how to inspect
your truck, trailer and have any issue corrected before you are asked by
an officer at the weigh station. Also make sure your truck has required
license plate, IFTA permit, NY permit, annual inspection sticker, signs
and identification numbers. Make sure all lights work, as well as
reflective tape on the back of the cab, mud flap hanger area and trailer
is on and in good condition. Make sure your tires have good air pressure
and tread. These are first visible things they will be looking for.
And remember DO NOT: SPEED, FOLLOW TO CLOSE, DRIVE IN THE 3rd LANE,
PARK IN AN OFF RAMP, DRIVE WITHOUT A SEAT BELT...these are all good
reasons to be pulled over for and Inspection and you are stopped for any
of these reasons you will NOT pass your Inspection, you may be ticketed
and fined by the officer for these offenses. These inspections will be
follow you for up to 3 years on your CSA safety score and negatively
affect TRANSFLEET as well.
